Farm visits

Throughout the year we visit an organic farm called Nancarrow farm (which belongs to Mrs Chamberlain’s family).  We collect and count eggs, wash the tractor, feed the pigs, chickens and other animals as well as bottle feed the spring lambs .  The children all have a wonderful time.  We are learning to keep ourselves safe as well as learning so much about animals and life on a farm.

Open days

Parents and carers are invited to join us weekly for singing sessions; we vary the day throughout the year.  We also have open days when parents can come and share their child’s experiences at school. We offer parent teacher meetings twice a year and parents are very welcome to come in and talk to us at other times and are free to make an appointment with the class teacher.

Forest school

Mrs Oakes leads the forest school work.  Miss Wright is also a qualified Forest School Leader.  We build dens, hunt for different types of leaves, build campfires and learn how to care for the environment and how to keep ourselves safe.

We use our wonderful outdoor learning space to explore the  natural environment and to learn about nature and how to use tools safely.

Visits and visitors

We enjoy going to different places to learn and also inviting people to come in to the Nursery School. Amongst other things, we have been to the Eden Project, had a drumming workshop and learnt about animals from the animal man.  Have a look at some of our pictures.
