We offer a morning session from 8.45am to 11.45am and an afternoon session 12.30pm to 3.30pm.  Both sessions are 3 hours in length and we ask that all parents/carers are punctual in collecting and dropping off their children to avoid disruption to the other children.

Breakfast and Afterschool Sessions

Each morning there is a before school session between 8am and 8.45am, or a short early drop-off option from 8.30am to 8.45am.

Lunchtime Session

We offer a lunchtime session from 11.45am to 12.30pm.  If children are attending this session they are required to bring in a packed lunch.  We promote the healthy schools agenda.  Our lunchtime staff sit with the children to encourage and support them.

Afterschool Sessions

Every afternoon there is also an afterschool session which is open from 3.30pm – 5.30pm and a later pick-up option between 3.30pm – 3.45pm.

The above sessions are offered to the following age groups:

Two year olds

September 2017 brought the introduction of a small two year old group to Truro Nursery School. We are delighted with this initiative so far; feedback from parents and carers has been wonderful. The children have a lovely space which was completely refurbished in line with the needs of younger children last summer. The children are obviously very settled and feel safe and secure as they all settle quickly and are interested in the stimulating activities that the two year old team of staff plan for them. When they want to they can venture into the whole Nursery space and play alongside their older peers both inside and out. There is much research to show that this model (playing alongside older children but having a safe space to retreat to when they need to) is best for two year olds. We plan to expand our provision slightly next year increasing our spaces to 12 two year olds in each session. If you would like to come and have a look or get your child’s name on the waiting list please let us know.  These sessions are offered to children after their 2nd Birthday.

Three and Four Year Olds

At the core of the school is the main Nursery.  This provides nursery education for children aged three to four.  All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours free nursery provision.  Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for the 30 hours extended funding.  If you are not able to claim the 30 hours extended funding, additional hours may be purchased depending on availability.  Most children are able to have a minimum of three terms nursery education prior to starting in reception class.  These sessions are offered to children at the start of the term in which they turn 3.
